Membership criteria

To become a PEWIN member, a current PEWIN member must first nominate you.

Our nomination process is designed to ensure that our membership is comprised of the senior-most women in our designated asset classes. Below are criteria for membership, which our Committee uses to assess each nomination. Individuals who do not meet criteria may be renominated at any point should their experience develop or role change.

Membership Criteria
Decision-Making Role: Senior GPs, Allocators & senior-most IR professionals - Holding some of the senior-most investment titles available at the organization, including. Managing Directors, Partners, Founders, Chief Investment Officers or Asset Class Heads.
For GP investors, membership on the firm's investment committee is preferred; C-Suite positions (COO, CFO, GC) may be considered IF the individual has an investment role, holds a seat on the Investment Committee or holds significant board positions within the firm’s portfolio.
For LP investors, leading investment into at least one asset class is strongly encouraged.
For IR and Capital Raising Professionals leading the IR practice and strategic involvement at their firm is required.

Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience in the private markets ecosystem is required, which could include portfolio company /operating experience for a Firm founder.

Asset Class Alignment: Currently operating in one or more of PEWIN’s designated asset classes including private equity, venture capital, private credit and/or value-added infrastructure /energy. We do not accept members investing into real assets (real estate structures) or hedge funds today.

Exceptions for special situations can be made but must be approved by the Membership Committee chairs.

How to nominate

Current PEWIN members can nominate new members through the member portal. Log in to the portal and complete the nomination form.

The nomination process typically takes 2-3 weeks from submission. If the nominee is accepted the sponsor and the nominee will be notified with instructions for activation. If the nominee is denied, or more information is required, the sponsor will be notified and given an opportunity to provide additional data points or understand the reason for the decision. Exceptions for special situations can be made but must be approved by the Membership Committee chairs.
