Private Equity’s Place in the Portfolio: Managing Liability and Liquidity
For LPs building portfolios or increasing their exposure to privates, where within the portfolio does committed capital sit? With a contraction of risk premia across asset classes, how do you balance opportunity cost against liquidity? For LPs with overexposure to privates, has there been a move to offset or diversify exposures or increase liquidity elsewhere in the portfolio? How do Evergreen funds factor into private portfolios / overall asset allocation? Have LPs considered “liquid” privates? How do these strategies square with asset/liability matching?
